Day 4 (07/17/2001) Utah/Colorado Trip

We stayed the night in the Holiday Inn on Garden of the Gods Parkway. The next morning, we started the day at Garden of the Gods Park. We walked the main trail in the center of the park, then drove to visit the Balanced Rock form. After our Garden of the Gods visit, we proceed to drive around the city of Colorado Springs where we ate a Mexican lunch and dropped off photos for developing by the mall. After lunch we proceed to Pike's Peak where we took the Cog Railroad 3 hour round trip up to the top of the mountain. With temperatures in the city at between 85-90 degrees, it was a pleasant surprise at the top with temperatures in the 50's or lower (it was cold). We again stayed the night in the Holiday Inn on Garden of the Gods Parkway another night.
