Day 3 (07/16/2001) Utah/Colorado Trip
Paul J. Lossner
We left the Holiday Inn in Grand Junction, Colorado and headed on our journey
southeast along US-50 passing through the towns of Delta, Montrose, Gunnison,
Salida (a ski town where we stopped for lunch), Canon City, and Pueblo on our
way to our destination of Rocky Ford, Colorado (where my dad grew up for a time).
This journey took us by Lake Gunnison and over the Rocky Mountains. We passed over
the Continetal Divide at Monarch Pass at an elevation of 11,312 feet above
sea level. After retrieving memories from Rocky Ford, we headed
back to Pueblo where we caught I-25 North to Colorado Springs where we stayed the
next two nights.
