Pirate's House Restaurant in Savannah
Segment Two (01/28/2006)

Our second Savannah Stop was for food at the Pirate’s House Restaurant in the waterfront historic district. On E. Broad Street near the intersection with bay street, this is a must eat place. Since 1753, the Pirate’s House is one of the oldest homes in Savannah and originally started out as an hotel and restaurant for tired seafarers. As a rendezvous for traveling seamen to swap stories, drink and eat, this location became well known among 18th century ship captains. As it gained acclimates, it became a hangout for blood thirsty pirates of the sea which gave it its modern name.

With 15 separate dining rooms, an upstairs bar, and even an escape tunnel, the Pirate’s House has many stories to tell for all members of the family. The food in this restaurant is excellent, and if the time is right you may luck into a buffet. The photos on this page are taken from the inside and outside of the Pirate’s House restaurant.
