Midwest Road Trip
(Day Three: Sunday, May 25 - Page 07)

Indianapolis 500 Race of 2008:
After staying the night at a Hilton Garden Inn in Terre Haute, Indiana, we continued east along Interstate 70 into Indianapolis, Indiana, where we continued north along I-465 to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We purchased tickets online for the 2008 Indianapolis 500 Race. While I am not interested in Indy or NASCAR races, I was completely taken back by the speed that those cars travel while going down the race track. Television does not give you any sense of how fast those cars are booking along. The camera broadcast equipment was controlled robotically along moving cables that zip along the track between towers to get the video of the cars going by. We stayed in the stands about an hour then walked around the campus (inside the track) for about another hour….On a non race day you can even place golf there! (Or I can attempt at Golf there!) We had a tight schedule so we then left to travel to our next destinations. Enjoy!
