Chattanooga Day Trip
Paul J. Lossner
Hello and Welcome to another Virtual Online Tour. This one will tour the three major attractions
around the city of Chattanooga, TN-GA. First thing straight Chattanooga is in the state of
Tennessee, however at least one attraction on Lookout Mountain actually is located across the state
line in Georgia, but city of Chattanooga is in the state of Tennessee along with most of the
Metropolitan area. Now with the confusion out of the way we will begin. I drive through the city
of Chattanooga about 20-25 times a year on my way to Nashville, Huntsville, as well as Chattanooga
customer sites, but rarely stop as check out the sites. The three sites covered today are big sites,
but Chattanooga has many other attractions in this mountainous, river city. Other points of
interest are the Chattanooga Choo Choo, Lookout Mountain Battlefield, Raccoon Mountain, and many more.
Being roughly 100 miles north of Atlanta, GA or South of Nashville and Knoxville, TN at the
intersection of Interstates 75 and 24 it makes for an easy day of fun.
Rock City (near Chattanooga, TN):
A friend visiting from China asked about Rock City as this is advertised on television in China
and you know me it is time for a Road Trip. It is stated, although not proven, that you can see
the seven states of Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina,
and Alabama from the top of a Rock Formation called Lover’s Leap. In getting to Lover’s Leap a
rock corridor leads you through a rock garden containing local Plants and Trees, Rocks, waterfalls,
and even across a Cable Bridge to the main site: “Seven States". While no official website was
located the link below has addition information from Wikipedia...
