Downtown Denver, CO

Welcome to another exciting web travel series. This trip will cover parts of the Cities of Denver, Vail, Aspen, Colorado
and Cheyenne, Wyoming. This trip was conceived for one reason. To get my feet wet (I guess frozen) into the sport of
skiing, but that was not the only thing involved in this trip. We arrive in Denver’s new International Airport on Friday,
April 4, 2008 in midmorning after getting bumped from a flight in Atlanta. We were at the gate 20 minutes before
departure time, but the flight had already left. Sometimes 2 hours to go through Hartsfield security is not enough.
But being in the Mile High City allows for some stress relief and a pleasant 60 degrees greets us. On this trip Patrick is going to ride along and we
will meet up with a friend, Grant a fellow Sprayberry High School graduate, and another friend Bill will go
Skiing with us along with his girlfriend who are also in Denver. A busy schedule, but four days are slated for this trip
so no problem. First thing I notice is how wide the Interstates are and the limited amount of traffic driving around
even around rush hour. Major traffic must only be an Atlanta, Los Angeles problem. The city with a metro area of
around 3 million people is located on prairie land just minutes east of the Rocky Mountains. Facing north, look to the
left you see mountains, look to the right and you see Prairie Land as far as the eye can see. On this page you will see
pictures as we drive around the City of Denver. We will also stop at the Molly Brown House for pictures. Overnight I
have a reservation for 2 rooms at an unassuming Hampton Inn paid for by the Hilton Honors Club.
Enjoy the Trip!!
