AZ, UT, NM Road Trip
(Day Four: July 30,2007 - Page 22)

Albuquerque, New Mexico:
From Santa Fe, New Mexico, we returned to tour the Native American and Hispanic influenced City of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Albuquerque had a very clean and themed downtown area, but did not appear to have too much going on in the downtown area. The surrounding area was beautiful, with desert mountain views in many directions. I will definitely return during the yearly Hot Air Balloon Festival in the fall. Like all cities there were good and bad areas, but all in all I liked the city. Albuquerque is where AMC’s Series Breaking Bad is set with its drug cartels and gangs. I have been informed by several that you need to watch where you go and keep and eye on your surroundings as things can get dangerous at any time. Being from Atlanta, another dangerous city, this is just other day to me. There are several things to see while in the Albuquerque Area including the Bandera Volcano and Ice Caves (not open during our visit), Albuquerque Aquarium, Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, the National Atomic Museum, along with many others, however being early Sunday Morning and our tight travel schedule only one local stop was made: the Petroglyph National Monument highlighted on the following web page…
