AZ, UT, NM Road Trip
(Day Three: July 29,2007 - Page 16)

Natural Bridges National Monument, UT:
Continuing our travels along US-95 South towards Monument Valley we stopped at the Natural Bridges National Monument for displays of Natural Bridge “Arches” formed over thousands of years by streams of water cutting through the rock, just like water forms caves. The colors in this area are more grey and bland in color compared to the numerous sandstone photos which have been taken before. This gives my eyes time to recolor and re-pallet for what comes up. If you are interested in these hard rock natural bridge formations also check out Arches National Park in eastern Utah which also contains Arches and Natural Bridges formed by years of erosion but through colorful sandstone. These pictures are located in the Utah-Colorado Trip Series. Through this national park you drive to a couple of Natural Bridges, which you can easily view from just outside the car. But the last Bridge we decided to take a short ¼ mile or less walk to the bottom. Enjoy the photos.
