AZ, UT, NM Road Trip
From the Grand Canyon we returned to Cameron to again travel North on US-89 where we caught US-160 to the Northeast
3-4 miles to an area marked on the map for Dinosaur Tracks near Tuba City, Arizona. I will have to say this one is a skipper.
The local native Indian tribe had marked off and area to charge “tips” to show you where dinosaurs had tracked millions of
years ago. While there were tracks and they most likely were dinosaur tracks, there was no museum, no building, no nothing,
just tour guides. I am glad I drove 10 miles off the beaten path to see this tourist trap, but now that I have seen it, have no
reason to be back. One note: During our first day a severe weather system seemed to follow us from north of Phoenix all
the way to Bryce Canyon, where there was severe storms and flooding. Near the Montezuma Ruins, rivers were raging. The
locals were talking about the major power outages which resulted from the storm. You can see the resulting storm water in
some of these photos. They had to scrap mud away to show some of the dinosaur foot marks. We all slept all through the
storms.
