Day 2 (10/21/2004) 7th stop
From Granada Lake, we headed for a drive around town. We boarded the Expressway
and traveled north on Highway-51 till it dumped into Loop-101 on the north side
of town in the Scottsdale Region. We followed Loop-101 East and exited at
Scottsdale Road. Heading north, we stopped for gas and food at a local
Mexican Restaurant. (One Note: I drank one of the strongest Margarita’s ever.
After half an 8oz drink with ice, I was drunk!) After lunch we drove around the
Scottsdale area and checked out the many homes in the area. The Scottsdale
neighborhood photos follow below and are located around the Red enclosed area
on the map. With rush hour approaching we headed South on Loop-101 on "The Puma Punisher"
in rush hour traffic to connect with Interstate 10 to head west out of Phoenix
where we spent the night in a Holiday Inn on the west side.

The map on the left shows the route we followed for our day in the city of
Phoenix. We entered the city from the South on Interstate-10 and exited
downtown to drive around for awhile to locate a Baskin Robbins which their
family previously owned. Once located, we drove around town to the North
along Highway-51, exiting near Squaw Peak in a mission to locate their old
house. Next we climbed to the top of one of the overlooks in the Phoenix
Mountains Preserve for lots of photos and views. Next we drove around their
old neighborhood towards Granada Lake where we made the last stop. Those
photos you have already viewed on the previous two pages. Now that I have
caught you up on the daily activities so far, we are ready to continue.
