Day 1 (10/20/2004) 3rd stop

After checking out Tombstone, we checked in for the night at the historic
Hotel Congress in downtown
Tucson. This hotel dates back 1919 and is believed to be haunted by spirits. The hotel's history includes
a fire the burned the upper floors and a murder. Staying in a hotel this old was a rather neat experience,
but also lacked many amenities such as an in room television or even a working radio. The room that we
stayed in was also just above the saloon so the party roared on. I did not see any ghosts, even though
the room that we stayed in is claimed to be the second most haunted room and is next to the most haunted
room in Hotel Congress. One Note: I did hear weird sounds (moans and groans) that could have been mistaken
for sounds from the other side, coming through the ventilation system. These moaning whistling sounds were
caused by the air blowing through the old vents. Hauntings seems to accompany high levels of RF and
Electromagnetic Radiation, which many believe either alter the brains perceptions creating these haunting
episodes in the mind, or is the effect of spirits being present. In the motel room, my radio did not pickup
any radio stations on the AM band, and all FM stations contained multipath (to the point of making them
unlistenable), I believe this was caused by a microwave long distance transmission tower across the street,
that may still be maintained for backup communications, and also may be the culprit in some of the
hauntings. One Note: The motel staff LOST our reservation and would not honor our confirmation number
and thus charged us a much higher rate for the room. So just beware of our situation when you make a
travel to Hotel Congress!
