Day 1 (10/20/2004) 1st stop

Welcome to another virtual online tour. This trip and webpage series starts
in Tucson, and includes Phoenix, Los Angeles, and finally ends in San Diego,
California. This trip will take four days and we tried to include as many
attractions as possible. After arriving in Tucson after a four hour flight,
our first sight to see is the PIMA Air & Space Museum which is better knows and
the famous Airplane Graveyard. What most surprised me however is that it really
is not completely a graveyard. Most planes are preserved there for future use of
parts for use on other planes currently in operation. They locally call the
graveyard, a Airplane Reclamation Yard because most of these planes will be used
again for some use or another eventually. Some few may be re-flown others may be
disassembled for part to be sold around the world. Only a few planes are actually
completely decommissions and those are destroyed by slicing the fuselage to
guarantee no other flight. Enjoy the photos. The PIMA Air & Space Museum will
be covered on two pages.
